The lift didn't come back to the mountain station last night. Let's use this opportunity to journey  down the mountain along a winding trail, enjoying the handcrafted sights and keeping an eye out for the animals calling this mountain their home. You have your camera with you, so have a fun and relaxing day exploring!

Where's the difference between the two versions? I polished up the project quite a bit in the non-jam version. Working on Down the Mountain had been an absolute blast and I wanted to use some more time to rework some areas, add a few more, hide way more animals and bugfix a couple of things. Also, I optimized the non-jam version a little.

This is a very peaceful game, i love it! definetly going to be added to my mental health day, play list!

I loved the game and your part in the Dan Pos video. The 2D sprites nail the perfect balance between visibility to show a point of interest and blending in to still give the player that "aha, I found something hidden" feeling. The camera detection is sometimes a bit buggy, but it's not a huge bummer. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that you can actually view your pictures and they even get saved to your drive. The constant side quests are a nice addition, giving some extra reason to explore the beautiful environment. Overall, the game reminds me a lot of "Alba: A Wildlife Adventure" and "Penko Park" in all the best ways.

If you plan on taking this game a step further, you could add a photo album of some sort and maybe display some real-world facts about the animals and their habitat to add some educational value. As seen by the example of Alba, these kinds of games can even be commercially successful if sold at a reasonable price. One thing you should definitely add regardless is an FOV slider though.

In my opinion, this game has a lot of potential, but regardless of whether you decide to continue, you can be proud of what you created :)

Looks beautiful, great job on the environment!

Thank you so much!

Seems pretty neat, I'll have to give it a play when I get a chance, added to collection for now.

Hope you will enjoy it =)!

What a fun game, a beautiful mountain with lots of ups and downs, various environments and plants!
And the people and animals there, who are made of "irasutoya" materials. To be honest, before I started playing, I thought that the "Irastoya" pictures were a bit of a mismatch (especially for Japanese, whose daily lives are filled with Irastoya materials), but when I actually played the game, I was surprised at how well they matched the game and how interesting it was.
It was a very enjoyable playing experience!

Thank you so much for playing it! I'm slowly watching your video and thank you so much for all the praise 💛 It's amazing watching people play and enjoy my game, and now even from the other side of the world? This is so far beyond what I had hoped for. Great video 💛!

Made a video

Hah, awesome :D! Thank you for making a video about it! Your search for the beavers had me chuckling, you managed to always look right past them :D! They are actually very, very close to the person asking you to take a photo. But it looks like you enjoyed your hike 💛

Felt like the beavers where close but got distracted by the rest of the world so guess that person will never get that photo now. Yeah we had a good time hiking down the mountain and finding all the random things to take pictures of sometimes confusing the camera along the way.

Your game starts at 07:52. This was fantastic. There is so much to find and it was so creative. All the seasons being represented in an area was a great way to show your take on them all. The underwater bones was Lil Biscuit's favorite discovery. Having people to talk to was a smart yet subtle way to give optional quests and move us in a direction to see more of the world. We really appreciate not having fall damage which made getting around easy and not having the experience halted by a game over screen. Also walking on the frozen water was much more fun then dealing with falling in or having to walk around the lakes. Being able to jump video game style to get around was helpful too. The animals and people looking like 2D drawings was an cool artistic direction and added to the storybook feel. Our only issue was the camera would wrongly identify animals but that's so minor. Everything ran smoothly and controlled well. We know there is more to find and we showed the highlights of what we did. Keep up the good work!

This is so awesome, thank you for the video and feedback! I enjoyed watching you guys play a lot and took a couple notes for a patch ;) Hope you two will go on many more great adventures together!
